In December 2019, I had the opportunity to visit Hobbiton Shire, the movie set from the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. It was an incredible experience to see the set up close and in person, and to imagine what it would have been like to live in Middle-earth.

In this photo journal, I will share some of my favorite photos from my visit to Hobbiton Shire. I hope you enjoy them!

The Shire

The Shire is a fictional region of Middle-earth, the setting of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. It is a peaceful and idyllic place, inhabited by hobbits, a small and friendly people.

Hobbiton Shire is a recreation of The Shire, built for the filming of the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. It is located in Matamata, New Zealand, and is a popular tourist destination.

The Party Tree

The Party Tree is a large tree located in the center of Hobbiton Shire. It is the site of many of the hobbits' celebrations, including the annual Midwinter Feast.

The Party Tree is a popular destination for tourists, who can take a photo under the tree and imagine what it would have been like to attend a hobbit feast.

Visiting Hobbiton Shire was an incredible experience. It was a chance to step into the world of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and to see the places where some of my favorite movies were filmed.

I highly recommend visiting Hobbiton Shire if you are a fan of The Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit. It is a truly magical place.
