The Marine Third Reconnaissance Battalion (3rd Recon) was one of the most elite and effective units in the Vietnam War. Operating deep behind enemy lines, 3rd Recon conducted long-range reconnaissance patrols, ambushes, and raids, gathering vital intelligence and striking at the heart of the enemy's operations.

In this gripping and unforgettable book, former 3rd Recon Marine John Plaster recounts the battalion's experiences in Vietnam from 1965 to 1970. Plaster, a highly decorated veteran of the war, provides a firsthand account of the battalion's daring missions, its close calls, and its heartbreaking losses.
