After Caesar's assassination in 44 BC, Agrippa initially supported Mark Antony but later switched sides to Octavian (later Augustus). He played a key role in Octavian's victory over Antony at the Battle of Actium in 31 BC. This victory gave Octavian undisputed control of the Roman world, and Agrippa became one of his most trusted advisors and generals.

Military Campaigns

Agrippa was a brilliant military commander, known for his strategic brilliance and tactical prowess. He led numerous successful campaigns on behalf of Augustus, expanding the Empire's bFree Downloads and securing its frontiers.

• The Baths of Agrippa, a vast bathing complex that provided public baths for the citizens of Rome.
• The Aqueduct of Agrippa, an aqueduct that supplied Rome with fresh water from the nearby Alban Hills.

Patron of the Arts

Agrippa was not only a soldier and builder but also a patron of the arts. He supported poets, artists, and scholars, and helped to promote Roman culture. He founded the Bibliotheca Asinaria, a public library in Rome that housed a vast collection of books and scrolls.

Personal Life

Agrippa was married three times. His first two marriages were to women of obscure origin. His third marriage was to Julia the Elder, the daughter of Augustus. This marriage produced five children, including Agrippina the Elder, who later became the mother of Emperor Nero.

Agrippa died in 12 BC at the age of 51. He was buried in the Mausoleum of Augustus, alongside his patron and friend. His legacy as one of the most influential figures in Roman history continues to this day.
